Provides direction and guidance to production operations engineering (IEs, MEs, QEs, PCBUIs, and Liaison Engineering), quality assurance, materiel, engineering, production scheduling, facilities equipment in value of excess of 18 million, fabrication, feeder plant and other support personnel. Manage 3 in-process aircraft assemblies. Support over 10 customers including US government, international, FMS and DCS. Coordinates production and schedules with Meridian, Clarksburg, Pinellas, India, Johnstown and Materiel. Determines and implements strategies to achieve scheduled production unit completions, support contractual delivery commitments, support production rate changes, support new production variants and implement them into the line, incorporate in-line modifications and upgrades, determine appropriate organization structure and staffing levels, determine appropriate tooling, facilities and equipment levels, determine need for vendor return to green and shortage recovery plans and implement affordability projects, determine appropriate metrics for safety, cost, quality, schedule and other items impacting these. Develops and implements plans and strategies to reduce and overcome challenges from engineering designs, project tooling, vendor parts, and production processes resulting from new version implementation. Responsible for success of DCMA significant inspection items and fifty mandatory government acceptance inspections as well as two FAA inspections. Enlisted In the United States Air Force in the delay enlisted program in May of 1974, Entered in August 8,1974 as a Pneudraulic repairman on missiles. I was put on flying status as an in-flight mechanic to repair the in-flight (Boom) refueling system. June of 1982 I was transferred to the 401st Component Repair squadron, Torrejon AB, Spain. Became the youngest E-5 to hold the title of Pneudraulic Shop chief which is usually reserved for E-7. Was responsible for all self inspection checklists for all 18 shops. In April of 1989 was reassigned to the 36 AGS 525 bulldogs at Bitburg AB, Germany on F-15C. Became a German interpreter for the Air Force in 1990. Was handpicked to lead a team to a German base to practice flight maneuvers with east German MiG-29 prior to Operation Desert Shield. Was selected as an E-7 to lead an elite group of mechanics in the forming of the 36th OSS FAME (Frontline Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) Team. This team repaired all aircraft that had a history of failures. We had a 90% success rate. In April of 1994 was reassigned to the 58th Fighter Squadron F-15(gorillas) at Eglin AFB, Florida. Was assigned the duties of A and B Flight chief. Supervised over 65 crew chiefs. Was the squadron engine run certifier and later borescope certifier. Was selected to take over Phase inspection dock in June of 1996 to improve performance. Turned the phase dock performance from a passing rate of 72% to 90% passing rate from quality assurance. Was chosen by Langley AFB, Virginia to assist a German fighter squadron Jabog 32 during Coalition Green Flag 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Spend over 100 days assisting this squadron in an everyday operation on an Air Force installation.
