Provide support in the delivery and coordination of investment attraction and business development efforts to help grow commercial and residential assessment.Participate as a member of the Senior Staff team, offering comment and advice on matters regarding business development and investment attraction specifically, and generally on other matters coming before the CAOs and Councils.Work with Planners/Development Officers, Municipal Engineers, Building Inspectors, CAOs and Councils on Municipal Planning Strategies and Land-Use Bylaws and potential amendments. Act as liaison and coordinate with these departments on the provision of municipal services required for commercial and residential development.Administer the branding, marketing, promotion and development of the East River Business Park and other strategic land development initiatives.Market research for identifying new business opportunities.Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization.Develop in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospective clients and industry trends. Assist in company’s branding and media communication activities such as press releases, advertisements, marketing collaterals, and web site.Maintain a knowledge repository of clients, referrals, RFPs, prospects and presentations.

Administer Town's Municipal Planning Strategy, Land Use By-law and Subdivision By-law.Provide expert advice, direction and interpretation of all zoning and land userelated matters to Council, staff, developers, builders, lawyers, ratepayers and others as itrelates to all properties within the town.Ensure activities of the department meet all regulatory requirements as outlined under theMunicipal Government Act of Nova Scotia.Provide input and comments on existing/proposed policies and their potential impacts on thedevelopment process and associated implementation.Prepare and present planning reports, graphic presentations and exhibits for documents, meetings and presentations.Coordinate and prepare documentation for the registration of subdivision agreements, development agreements, and other legal documents.Conduct site inspections.Represent the Town as an expert witness at Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board hearings.Assist in managing relationships with stakeholders at the local, provincial, and national levels to coordinate and maximize efforts involving economic development for the Town.Utilize Geographic Information Systems, permitting software and design/CAD software as a tool for planning deliverables.
