My career in tiling and waterproofing began as a tiling apprentice over 30 years ago.I have gained invaluable experience in most sectors of our industry over this time, beginning with installation of wall and floor tiles and waterproofing membranes. Later, supplying tiles, adhesives and membranes to builders and contractors and then developing chemical formulations of tile adhesives and membranes for an adhesive manufacturer.Since then I have progressed into a consulting role for tiling and waterproofing, providing defects assessments and repair solutions for tiling and waterproofing defects and providing proactive defect prevention solutions for new construction.I regularly provide expert witness reports for the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Magistrates Court on tiling and waterproofing related matters.Following my appointment as MD of the Australian Master Tilers Association, I was engaged by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission to present the contractor education seminars on Tiling and Waterproofing.
