Mr Frank Myers MBE, BTech (Hons), GDMA, FCMI, FIC, MIET.Frank graduated in Engineering from Loughborough University by way of a scholarship from the electricity industry and has a Graduate Diploma in Management and Administration from the University of Bradford Management Centre.As the founder of Myers Road Safety Ltd, he has succeeded in taking his inventions to world markets and, in 1995, he received the MBE for services to road safety and to export. One of his inventions, The Quickcone, earned him a coveted British Design Award.At MCP Systems Consultants Ltd, he has introduced a new high-tech concept of asset tracking into the health service and, in 2009, won the E Health Insider Award for Innovation in the NHS. He was Manufacturing Director of Royal British Legion Industries, whose businesses aim to succeed in a commercial environment by employing disabled and ex-service people. Until July 2018 he was a Director and Trustee of Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People, a charity working with people living with physical and learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries and assisting them to gain new skills and increase independence.He is also a Non Executive Director of The Wye Valley NHS Trust and Chairman of its Charitable Funds Committee and the Herefordshire Stakeholder Group.As a Councillor, Frank was chairman of Walford Parish Council where there is now a thriving ‘Community Support Regime’ which aims to deliver ‘Care Closer to Home’.As Chairman of the Herefordshire Business Board he is a Director of Marches Local Enterprise Partnership Ltd where he represents local business views in order to shape future strategy and influence economic policy relevant to economic growth and business benefit at a Herefordshire, Marches LEP, and National level.In 2016 he was appointed Chairman of the Herefordshire Community Foundation.In 2020 he was appointed an Independent Member of the Audit and Risk Advisory Committee, Health and Social Care for the Welsh Government.He is a member of the Stronger Towns Fund Board for Hereford and chairs its Technical Working Group.
