Tester was designed to interface a vehicle electrical system through its fuse block connector and perform automated test sequences on electrically accessible components. Effort included design of mechanical fixtures, integration of custom and off-the-shelf boards, development of low-level software, user interface software and database software.· Design and development of Hall-effect vehicle electrical system component tester. Internal R&D project to develop a non-contact automated test system for vehicle electrical system components. The system employed a clamp-on Hall-Effect probe to create and store voltage-current signatures on vehicle components. Development included integration of custom and off-the-shelf hardware, low-level algorithms, test sequence, and user interface software. The system successfully identified components arbitrarily activated with an accuracy of 98% and used an RF link for portable operation. The system was demonstrated and used to secure new contracts with both Ford and General Motors.· High-level system design and proposal of automated assembly line tester. Completed system design and wrote proposal for Hall-effect based test system. Effort included mechanical fixture specification, component selection and schedule development. Resulted in first contract win for Dynetics with General Motors, worth $500,000.

This code includes operational and computational algorithms, diagnostics, user-interface and related software. All winder functions are controlled by parameters computed and sent to controller over RS-232 communications port. Code developed includes winder simulation software developed to determine winding characteristics. Embedded code was written in C to run on TI 320C25 DSP; simulation and user-interface code written in C to run on PC.· Design and development of all embedded and interface software for flow meter. This code includes operational, diagnostic, user-interface, and related software. Flow meter computes mass flow rate in hot industrial fans using inputs of differential temperature through the fan and fan motor horsepower. Computed flow rate is used for closed-loop process control and boiler safety systems. Source code was all written in C for TI 320C25 DSP.· Design and development of EPROM emulation board hardware and software. Board developed as marketable product for embedded applications development. Software developed includes user-interface, drivers and diagnostics functions. All emulator functions are performed through a PCparallel printer interface.

Board developed to perform coordinate transformations using multiplier-accumulator ICs and DRAM look-up table at 6.7 MPixel/sec. This board was designed to clip a variable size sub-scene from a larger input scene and translate and rotate it in real-time. A PC-AT interface card was developed to initialize and operate the board.· Modification of real-time image processing hardware and software. Video interpolation board modified for enhanced demonstration. Work included board modifications and Xilinx FPGA code to provide PC control of board functions.· CAE software experience. CAE tools used include SCHEMA, OrCad SDT and VST, XACT, SUSIE digital logic simulator.· Computer system and network installation and support. Provided computer and network support for NASA scientists. Duties included writing of specifications for new systems, software installation, hardware installation, benchmark testing of leading edge computer systems, network maintenance, operating system tests and other related activities.· C programming experience. Source code was written for graphical presentation of RADAR data. C code was written on PCs and ported to UNIX based machines.
