• Joined the privately-owned BAC group in November 1995, when the group comprised aircraft leasing and operating companies, an air charter broker, a business travel agency and a fledgling sports tour operator. Over the next eight years, which featured the development of an aviation spares division, group turnover rose from £15m to £25m. • In 2004, Air Contractors Limited (a Dublin based aviation group “ACL”) acquired a majority stake in BAC. ACL then focused on the development of the aviation spares division (eventually rebranded as ACLAS Global) with the other parts of BAC being absorbed, sold or closed. The company operated out of Southend with an annual turnover of c£15m. • Following a group strategic review, the trading inventory of the company was sold in 2017. The company was subsequently closed with all staff being made redundant.

City Centre Leisure (“CCL”) was a privately owned group which managed leisure centres under local authority management contracts. Joined CCL in May 1990 when it was a single company managing three centres in the South East. The company was restructured in 1992 to form a group which, by 1994, consisted of six companies and managed seventeen leisure centres countrywide. Annual turnover rose in this period from £1.5m to £9.0m.
