Responsible for the management of outside logistics sourcing company and the strategic supply chain of metals form source mills to steel processors, converters and ultimately to the customer location. • Managed $11 million dollars in freight spend• Developed ISO/QS9000 work flows• Participated on steel processors evaluation team• Managed metals materials flow from 70 steel processors and warehouses in 13 states• Evaluated and measured the performance of third-party logistics provider• Increased carrier capacity while reducing freight spend by 15%, as well as avoided staffing increases that resulted in $125,000 in cost savings• Analyzed transportation costs and best practice methods for continuous improvement, which realized 34% cost savings annually
