Frank has more than 30 years of experience with geologic and heavy civil engineering projects. He is an expert in soil mechanics, dewatering and heavy civil shoring, and has substantial experience on rail projects. He has been a geotechnical designer and CM manager for the Union Pacific Railroad on an emergency repair for the Great Salt Lake Causeway and continues to consult additional maintenance issues. He also managed the deep foundations for four bridges being replaced by Burlington Northern Santa Fe in Renton, Washington, and for one bridge (known as the ‘long bridge’) in Sandpoint, Idaho. Frank also worked on a major landslide repair required to reopen HW 101 for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Currently he is managing the quarry operations for the UPRR to produce armor stone for the causeway and to stabilize a failing embankment in Western Nevada. Mr. Pita has published over 20 technical papers on hydrogeological and engineering issues.Besides being a licensed Professional Engineer in numerous Western States; Mr. Pita is a registered geologist and a licensed hydrogeologist and he recently obtained his diplomate, geotechnical engineering credential. Mr. Pita holds two MS degrees, one in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University and another in Geology from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
