During my career of more than 35 years I gather world wide experience in senior management position for Caterpillar, Solar Turbines, Hella, Thyssen-Krupp, Krupp-MaK-Motoren and Hamburg Süd, in their various different industries, like manufacturing, automotive, heavy machinery and foundry.During these assignments I focused on enabling the business to develop a sustainable and self-sufficient Learning Organization by creating mind-set change through strategic and organizational development, process optimization & re-engineering based on LEAN management and 6 SIGMA principles.

    As General Manager of Global Castings high volume foundry in Xuzhou, China my main focus was the maximization of the foundry capacity to support the global business development strategy of Global Castings. After about 12 month of tight implementation the foundry’s was able to demonstrate a 70% annual capacity increase with slightly reduced employees. This achievement required the development of a highly efficient organization and LEAN manufacturing processes aside from business culture changes. Substantial development, learning and leadership across all levels in the organization are a prerequisite to enable the transition from a traditional small series casting foundry mindset to an automotive style high performance material flow focused facility.The transformation process was aiming to not only to deliver upon the required KPI levels and targets to achieve annual customer as well as shareholder expectation but to build the solid foundation for sustainable, profitable future.
