Frank Risch retired in 2004 as Vice President and Treasurer (and Principal Financial Officer) of Exxon Mobil Corporation following a 38 year international career in finance, strategic planning and general management. He received a B.S. in business from Penn State and an M.S. in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University. He joined Exxon as a financial analyst in NYC and subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility in finance, strategic planning, and marketing with Exxon and its operating affiliates in London, Athens, and Seattle, returning to corporate headquarters in NYC in 1980 to become the corporation’s Manager of Corporate Finance. In 1984, he became Treasurer of Exxon’s global chemical company and in 1986 Vice President of Exxon Chemical for financial and corporate affairs, with responsibility for treasurers, tax, controllers, I.S., law and public affairs. In 1989, he assumed worldwide leadership of Exxon Chemical's then $2.2 billion solvents and plasticizers businesses, followed in 1990 by a two year assignment as Executive Assistant to the Chairman and CEO of Exxon. He became Assistant Controller of the corporation in 1992, Assistant Treasurer in 1994 and V.P.and Treasurer of the corporation on January 1, 1999.He is presently a member of the Board of Pioneer Natural Resources Co. (NYSE-PXD) serving on the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Business Board of Advisors of the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. Since retirement from ExxonMobil he has been active in civic and community organizations, serving as Chairman of the Dallas Theater Center, Vice Chairman of Communities Foundation of Texas and Chair of its Philanthropy Committee, the Board and Executive Committee of the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the Board of Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). He and his wife Helen have two children and six grandchildren.
