Combustion Team Leader responsible for the day to day operation and maintenance of Doosan Babcock’s test facilities in Renfrew: 160kWth Emissions Reduction Test Facility for developing combustion and emissions reduction technologies including CO2 capture, and the 90MWth Clean Combustion Test Facility for demonstrating performance of utility scale burners including plants with CO2 capture.The role entails the organising and control of day to day preparation and execution of multi-million pound combustion test campaigns to develop advanced combustion technology for utility boiler plant applications.Manage day-to-day operation and maintenance of the test facilities; responsible for coordinating several multi-disciplinary teams (e.g. test facility staff, service technicians/engineers, fitters, project staff, and working closely with 3rd party external sub-contractors).

• Management of 6 synthesis lines and 4 finishing lines – 36 products including FDA products sold into various applications ink/paints/plastics.• Responsible for 12 direct reports duties include managing performance and absence.• First Line response, Major Emergency initiator and Fire Team leader responsible for out-of-office hours site management including safety, security, environmental and neighbour relations.• Responsible for achieving conformance to the production plan by managing plant availability including breakdown maintenance• Effective ownership of production assets ensuring compliance with all operational and engineering-led maintenance schedules.• Coaching of staff within manufacturing units to ensure a well-trained and flexible workforce through effective training and personal development.• Full compliance with all company EHS directives and EHS regulations including Critical compliance auditing, carrying out SOPs and Risk Assessments.• Sustained quality improvements aimed at efficient flow of material through plants.• Managing all raw material and intermediate product inventory using SAP.

Managed teams in a variety of chemical synthesis and milling plants within a time of substantial change at Paisley site.
