Employed as senior pilot flying As350 / As 355 / S76 single pilot VFR.Involved again in Antarctic operations / Tasmanian fire contract, recon and water bombing. Fire lighting for forestry burns and general lifting contracts around the state.

Pitt Meadows/ Alaska

Worked the Northern Summers in Canada and Alaska for Prism. First year I was sent to Arizona towing the AV temp aero mag bird and seasons after that were either spent in Canada or Alaska as the work suited.

Laos Pdr And Antarctic

Initial contract was to work in Laos, for Lao West Coast Helicopters, a sub branch of HNZ on the USA, MIA POW recovery programme along the Ho Chi Min trail. Locating Vietnam Era downed aircraft and missing personnel, locating and recovering remains to be repatriated back to The USA. At this stage I also got involved in Drill rig moving at Sepon gold mine operated in those days by CRA minerals. At times when the family needed me at home I ran my own Electrical Contracting business doing electrical installations and maintenance and installs of new dairy sheds and rotary irrigators to name but a few. I still hold a NZ and Australian A grade Electrical license and enjoy getting the pliers out when home from flying missions.
