Responsible for BAE Systems Advanced Programs, Special Programs and Geoscout within the National Security Systems Intelligence Systems line of business. Supervised second line software for 6 major programs, supported by more than 60 reporting personnel, and several new emerging business areas.Program Manager for 32 engineer ‘Borderless’ Initiative, providing support via small remote SW engineering teams utilizing virtual engineering tools. Led 12 simultaneous projects over two years, including embedded driver development for the JTRS software based radio program.

Acted as IPT lead for the Geospatial Information portion of the Image Exploitation Capability (IEC) NIMA program.Managed staff of 25 individuals developing key mission capability for the production of mapping products in support of a subcontract to provide Image Analysis and Geospatial Information functionality via COTS integration to a number of national agencies and commands.Met several hundred cartographic-based requirements, including the replacement of a legacy Digital Exploitation workstation system (NGA DE/S segment) with a COTS tailored solution.

Served as primary interface to a major software development subcontractor, providing approximately half the lines of code to the NIMA Libraries Archive and Dissemination core program. Project/resource planning, scheduling, statement of work generation, SDRL acceptance, technical conferences, NITF certification, and proposal review/acceptance. Primary engineering interface to internal/external Subcontracts.Managed subcontractor quality and performance. Interfaced with 30 subcontractor personnel and 25 NIMA Library program staff members.

Defined initial engineering processes and procedures which became BAE Systems NIMA Outsourcing capabilities. Conceived and stood up the BAE Systems Engineering Production Lab (EPL), which successfully performed on three NIMA Outsourcing contracts: Mozambique (initial Pilot-Production), Geospatial Information Demonstration (GID), and the Cuba Program (follow-on to pilot-production). Leveraged breadth of DMA/NIMA program experience to provide BAE SYSTEMS with a unique understanding of the NIMA environment. Directed BAE Systems Engineering Production Lab to significantly contribute to the win of the Australian ATSE PARARE mapping modernization program. Duties on this emerging business area spanned technical, management, and new business pursuits over a four-year period.Conceptualized and initiated development of the MC&G SOCET COTS software module. This adjunct applications product to SOCET SET permitted extension of the SOCET SET photogrammetric workstation to NIMA and commercial mapping projects. It is currently in use by a number of commercial firms, and was utilized as part of the NIMA Production Cell COTS tool suite.

Acquired first-hand experience in one of the first large COTS based production systems during the startup of NIMA’s Front-End Processing Environment (FPE). Acted as Workstation Controller lead for DMA (now NGA) Digital Production System (DPS) Digital Extraction Segment DE/S, with direct technical management responsibilities for a team of 120 SW engineers.Responsible for the HE/S Control Segment migration to a modern UNIX architecture under the FPE program.Led the critical study and initialization period of migrating from VAX to Alpha architectures. Served as Deputy Software Manager during the startup phase. Responsible for staffing, planning, scheduling, and status reporting activities for a group of approximately 30 software engineers. Coordinated the efforts of 6 groups comprised of 60+ software engineers to perform detailed design, code, and test activities for the Workstation Controller CPCSI.Leveraged leadership and technical expertise to successfully design, code, test, and deliver, 60 Workstation Controller CPCs comprising over 400,000 lines of Ada code. Fill principal technical, management and customer interface role in the development and execution of the DPS DE/S site support plan. Led the Extraction CPCI and Workstation Controller CPCSI during the post v4.5 efforts.

Served as Project Engineering Chief to the Data Systems Division and Section Head of the Electronics Division, Tactical Systems Focus Business Unit.Responsible for administrative management including performance evaluations and cultivated career growth of 18 software engineers.
