Serving as a Trade Services/Trade Finance SME (Sen. BA), as part of Back Office Replacement Study Project, as well as the later Implementation and Support of the allTRA Back Office Trade Finance System.

Coordinated and participated in effort to migrate Fortis Bank New York Letter of Credit portfolio to BNP Paribas New York.

Responsible for functional support of the back office trade finance system (ForTrade – a/k/a BankTrade) by working closely with local IT and head office (Europe) system support resources. Other duties require the analyzing of various systems and processes to document processing procedures, as well as working with various departments, e.g., Business Continuity and Compliance, to develop procedures and report issues. Additional task include transaction processing (the issuance, amendment and housekeeping of Standby L/Cs).

Overall responsibility to ensure appropriate customer service to 14 clients (maintenance and project clients), to generate additional revenue from existing clients, support sales to new clients (same tasks as under Product Manager below), ensure timely issuance and payments of invoices, and serve as a primary consultant on both regional and global integration and application development tasks.

Responsibilities included the maintenance of the master demonstration system, creation of general and customer specific sales strategies, perform business/workflow analysis studies of potential and existing clients, attend trade shows and conferences (e.g., SIBOS and IFSA), create new and update existing presentations, review and provide responses for RFPs (Request for Proposal) and RFI (Request for Information), review and edit design documents produced by sales support team members and design specialists. Sales support efforts were both local and global.

As a project manager it was required to perform typical project management duties such as creating and maintaining the project plan, coordinating resources across multiple departments, and keeping all stakeholders updated on the progress of the project. Additional role as project manager was to serve as the chief functional and design consultant – which included such tasks as designing and testing enhancements and interfaces, training clients, and performing on and off site customer implementation support.

Tasks included ensuring onsite and head office resources met deadlines in a timely manner, helped identify and resolve delivery issues, assisted bank-side staff in setting up and testing solutions, implemented design of new functionality, interfaces, and conversions, which included generating specifications and testing, and performed both internal and client functional training.

Responsible for the implementation and support of Tradeline (a customer front-end trade finance solution using World$Net). Duties included client-site installation and training, the generation of a user and support manual, training material, and marketing material. This position included constant communications with the vendor, management, account officers, and clients. Managed one support person.

Responsibilities included the processing Import and Export Documentary and Standby Letters of Credit – tasks included issuance, amendment, payment, periodic billing, bill tracing, and auto-extension (evergreen) processing. Responsibilities required communications with correspondent banks, colleagues, account officers, IT, and clients. An additional responsibility was to support the initial and upgrade implementations of an automated back office trade finance solution (BankTrade). Duties also included working with IT to trouble shooting BankTrade production issues. Responsible for training new associates on system use and Bank’s operational procedures.
