Senior Cctv Technician
• Running projects and CCTV installations for Edcon. Up to 144+ cameras per location, which could be IP or a Hybrid system as needed by customer.• Upgrades and installations. Work in hotels and casinos throughout the country, Project planning and liaison with technicians throughout SA to resolve issues telephonically where possible.• Extensive experience on GeoVision, NUUO, Dahua, Hikvision, Samsung, Vivotek,Axis, Pelco, Arteco, Digi-lt, Mobotix etc. IP and analogue systems, Responsible for problem solving on streaming and bitrate/resolution setup for streaming of video to Iceland and Switzerland. Handled all ISP related queries regarding these stores and also assisted ISP with port forwarding as needed from time to time.• Firmware updates on all IP products as needed when released for optimum productivity. Installation, configuration and commissioning/maintenance of HP and Netgear network products as required.• Fault finding and determination of fibre efficiency and connectivity and the integration of fibre as needed on sites.• Setup of all relevant remote software and configuration of users in control room setup.• Deployment of video analytics where applicable. Fault finding on matrix and virtual matrix systems.• Fault finding and setup of video encoders, for streaming and integration Of full PTZ functionality through video encoders.• Setup and configuration of analogue and IP PTZ cameras.• Full functionality and understanding of RTSP streaming and Onvif/Onvif S protocols. Assist technicians on site with problem solving if they can't explain problems properly. Setting up wireless point to point transmission for CCTV, and fault finding. • Administer training to all relevant parties on various system's in house or on site to technicians and customers alike as needed.• Liaison with suppliers to get full functionality of systems and to get system as efficient as possible within the said parameters laid out by customers.
