I am a member of the Water Quality team and Legal and Policy team in the EPA's Office of Wastewater Management, Water Permits Division. I analyze legal and policy issues that may have an impact on the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program and the Clean Water Act (CWA) such as: state water quality standards packages; implementation procedures for new, complex water quality criteria; and citizen petitions to EPA to withdraw a State's authority to administer the NPDES program. I also present a specialty NPDES permit writers’ course on addressing nutrient pollution through NPDES permits to state NPDES permit writers, environmental engineers, and related staff.

Performed legal research and prepared memoranda advising attorney of potential violations, arguments for appeals, and other legal issues related to Clean Water Act (CWA) compliance and violations, including Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting, and storm water management; drafted compliance letters and consent agreements on active cases.

Organized and planned events for partnership meetings and programs, planned staff events. Created partnerships with Environmental Studies Department. Researched renewable energy policy and congressional voting records for campaign material in 2008 election. Wrote articles for the national LCV blog. Organized door-to-door canvassing for LCV endorsed candidates.
