Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusinesses (CASA) https://www.casaprogramme.com. is a £30 million DFID funded, five year programme (2019-2024) that seeks to change how investors, donors and governments view and invest in agribusinesses that work with smallholder supply chains in Malawi, Uganda and Nepal. The consortium implementing CASA includes: Niras/Swisscontact (Component A); TechnoServe (Component B); and CABI (Component C)CASA will increase economic opportunities for smallholder producers by:- Demonstrating the commercial viability of small and medium sized agribusinesses with significant smallholder supply chains and attracting more investment into these businesses- Deepening the smallholder impact of existing investments made by development finance institutions and impact investors- Enabling poor smallholder farmers to engage with and trade in commercial markets- Researching and communicating the case for successful engagement with smallholder-linked agribusinessKey responsibilities include the following:- Provide vision, direction, strategic leadership and management for CASA’s country-level interventions, learning and communication- Spearhead the application of evidence and learning through knowledge sharing and peer learningefforts, capacity strengthening, stakeholder consultation- Manage relationships with DFID Country Offices and, along with CASA technical specialists, serve asprimary liaison with project stakeholders and the private sector- Ensure internal integration of project activities with the CASA overall plans through: 1) the annualwork plan and budgeting process; 2) creating/maintaining an effective project management team; 3)overseeing an effective monitoring and evaluation system- Ensure effective coordination and synergies between policy level, market level, and community-basedactivities, while managing procurement, deliveries and other related logistical actions

•Provided overall strategic, technical and management leadership to the Resilience and Livelihoods sector in Concern Malawi, ensuring that the highest standards of programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting are attained. •Champion growth of the Resilience and Livelihoods programme sector portfolio in Malawi through an innovative approach to learning and programme design within the programme.•Supervised 3 program managers; 2 project managers; M & E Advisor, Private Sector Partnership Advisor and Health and Nutrition Advisor•Represents organization on CSA Alliance and technical working groups eg Food security Cluster, National Taskforce on Conservation Agriculture.•Lead the development and delivery of high quality and innovative Livelihood strategies for information and communication management.•Develop and strengthen approaches to climate smart agriculture (CSA), that is also nutrition sensitive, and drive analysis and innovation on CSA and represent Concern at meso and macro level agriculture and Climate smart agriculture related forums e.g ACSAA.•Identify and develop new partnerships and monitor existing partnerships, through routine reviews of partner activities and partnership agreements.•Facilitate the capacity building of Concern and partner staff to maintain our ability to deliver high quality and innovative programmes.•Actively participate in the Country Office Senior Management Team (SMT).•Support the development and implementation of a Country Office strategic plan.•Pro-actively lead project design and proposal development processes.•Maintain strong working relations with donor technical advisors in Malawi, especially with Irish Aid, DFID, the EU and USAID.•Maintain strong working relationships with other international NGOs active in the Livelihoods sector in order to maximize opportunities to enter into consortium based proposal submissions to donors.

These may include active involvement in training, engagement of trainers, establishing institutional links, identifying opportunities for staff exchange or mentoring• Lead/support research initiatives across the Southern African region, ensuring that core WV approaches are documented and proven effective, contributing to worldwide better practice and positioning WV as a leading organization with respect to community-based and child-focused Economic Development programming• Provide technical leadership for regional and multi-country projects, initiatives and cross cutting issues around Resilience and Livelihoods

• Provide leadership in project planning, coordination and implementation, monitoring and review based on LEAP and project Management Principles and guidelines• Supervise the implementation of Value Chain Access to Markets Program, ensure programme quality and performance as per program objectives and targets• Coach and mentor, supervise Development facilitators ensuring that program implementation in ADPs is in line with their PDDs and AOPs,• Undertake market situation analysis and link producers to markets • Monitor and document the performance of community food security and economic development activities and evaluate their impact at household level and share lessons with government donors and other stakeholders.• Support Value Chain project staff to identify and promote potential enterprises and strengthen the existing ones to economically empower the households• Provided technical support during concepts and review of TORs and technical reports for baselines and evaluations.

• Lead the planning, organization and implementation of all agricultural production and marketing interventions• Developed project operation plans, supporting all relevant groups (irrigation, VS&L) and other district / community institution in activity planning and consolidating and monitor the implementation of the plan.• Provided technical support for conducting baseline, performance and impact monitoring and end of program survey• Facilitated efficient and timely implementation of planned activities by all relevant committees, district and community partners and project staff to ensure the right techniques, methodologies and standards are employed• Works closely with the government partners and farmers to establish cropping cycle that provides sustainable increased production to meet identified market opportunities• Developed training package and facilitate training programs for staff, partners and farmers to ensure quality technical messages on various agriculture and marketing technologies reaching all the target beneficiaries• Developed monitoring indicators to track progress and impact of project activities and make necessary adjustments in implementation approach.
