Was dispatched to cover breaking news situations as a producer and shooter, as well as to provide editorial content on stories such as the Boston bombing and Hurricane Irene. Acted as NBC News’ long-term presence in Haiti. Reported on future and current events occurring in Haiti to NBC News offices in Atlanta and New York City. Arranged logistics for incoming NBC News coverage groups. Captured video and pictures of news events and interviews as a digital journalist that were used in network broadcasts. Managed and hired a local staff to assist with teams on the ground. Conducted live, on-the-air phone interviews with news anchors in the United States updating them on ongoing stories. Attended U.N. briefings and stayed in constant contact with press contacts from different agencies doing humanitarian work in Haiti. Produced and wrote news segments, stories, interviews and live shots for CBS’ The Early Show. Acted as “cutting producer” for countless “cut spots” for broadcast. Managed multiple stories and segments at the same time as pitching stories and reporting on numerous organizations and beats including the White House, the U.S. Military, Congress, and national health care issues. Went on location to report on breaking news stories and book guests to appear live on The Early Show. Captured video to be used with CBS News reports as a Digital Journalist.

Worked closely with producers and on-air talent in providing research and support for "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" in Cape Town, South Africa.

I reported on both foreign and domestic stories in Morgantown, WV and in South Africa. I both reported live and through packages I gathered material for and edited. For work I did in Morgantown I received the 2006 West Virginia Associated Press Association's Award for Best Reporter in West Virginia.
