PI of 1R01DK100368, an NIDDK funded study to understand how painful periods may influence future risk of chronic pelvic pain and bladder pain syndromes in women. Completed an NIH K23 grant (http://www.northshore.org/womens-health/research/pelvic-pain) to study female pelvic pain syndromes, and co-investigator on MAPP an NIDDK-funded longitudinal, multisite study of pelvic pain conditions in both women and men (http://www.mappnetwork.org). Completed fellowship in minimally invasive surgery (endoscopy) and a master's in public health particularly in order to advance research into female pelvic pain conditions, which are poorly understood but affect up to 1 in 4 women.President (2014) and Scientific Program Chair (2009-2011) for the International Pelvic Pain SocietySpecialties: advanced gynecological surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, surgery proctoring, clinical trials execution, graduate and continuing medical education, epidemiology, diagnostic test evaluation, grantwriting
