The Rijswijk Centre for Sustainable Geoscience is focussing on developing well technology that is needed to facilitate the transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy. This comprises geothermal, CCS, subsurface heat storage, and reuse and abandonment of oil and gas infrastructure. I am setting-up the short- and longterm research projects and programmes for the centre.In this current role I can combine the experience gained through my previous roles as project leader at TNO, as petroleum geologist for an oil and gas company and as a consultant on geothermal energy and the energy transition. My expertise also enables me to contribute to the realisation and development of the national testing facility for sorting of plastics from household waste for recycling.
