Project definition and execution, related to the Solaris kernel device and I/O framework

Solaris Core OS, device and I/O framework, including, but not limited to: IOMMU, device identification in dynamic systems after failover, hotplug.

I started working on the OpenSolaris transition (closed -> open source) and general bugfixing. Then I transitioned to the Solaris xVM group, working on virtualization / cloud infrastructure (Solaris dom0 kernel & the hypervisor). Projects included combining Xen and Solaris dom0 with the Fault Management Architecture, bugfixing in both the Solaris kernel and the Xen hypervisor, etc.

I worked on NetBSD development of various kinds: optimizing the NFS code, developing the amd64 port, writing SATA drivers and hotplug code. Further work included a target SCSI driver and bringup of NetBSD on an embedded PowerPC platform.

NetBSD kernel development of all kinds: I wrote the initial Linux compatibility code, maintained the NFS kernel code, ported the FFS softdep code, wrote a few drivers. I wrote the amd64 port, and maintained both the i386 and amd64 ports for a number of years. Other than that, I did general bugfixing and maintenance spread all over the system.

Developer of parallel programming environments for high performance computing research, such as PVM and MPI implementations for specific parallel computing platforms. My work also included research in to migration of PVM tasks for load balancing purposes, resource management, and developing an RPC I/O server for a parallel computing platform. Further research included clustering systems such as Condor and Globus.
