OVERVIEW:Directed a senior management team, programs involving private, foundation and government funding, advisory board, strategy development, government relations, legal issues, audit response matters, and resource acquisition for operations covering 20 sub-regions in Haiti. KEY INITIATIVES:* Immersed in and navigated through earthquake disaster situation involving national crisis, partially destroyed headquarters, loss of staff’s families/homes, and personal emergency searching for family members among ruins of collapsed apartment complex.* Acted as advocate and leader to the national office staff and programs while receiving earthquake response teams and WVI’s leaders from around the world. Championed new vision for a “Haiti 2.0” to emerge from humanitarian disaster. * Advocated for the people of Haiti in national and international meetings. Served as organizational interpreter among all WVI’s offices.* Innovated new approach to collaborate with World Vision Dominican Republic on strategic matters focused on environment, health, and human trafficking (plans were put on hold after earthquake).* Designed and launched organization’s first pension plan with catch-up mechanism to encourage and improve morale of all Haiti staff.* Designed and implemented simple, one-page monthly scorecard for programs and special projects to provide staff with a quick view of operations, spending, and key metrics.* Partnered and collaborated with Harvard Business School to gather key NGO leaders, community representatives, and national business leaders in Haiti to discuss its future. Deepened understanding and mutual respect among stakeholders.
