These include: forced marches and migrations, mass murder, stolen property, dehumanization, slave labor, mass incarceration, torture, medical/scientific experimentation, discrimination, race riots (pogroms), lynchings and other extrajudicial killings, and long-lasting physical and psychological effects (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) on survivors and descendants.ABHM helps Americans heal through recovering and acknowledging the truth about the African American experience – information that is, for the most part, lacking in our history schoolbooks. We bring to light the historic and contemporary lived experiences of black Americans through our online exhibits, face-to-face community programs and interracial dialogues, and print and digital publications.Dr. James Cameron, who survived an Indiana lynching in 1930 at age sixteen, founded the museum in 1988 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When ABHM’s building closed in 2008, the museum moved entirely online as a virtual museum. It currently displays over 2900 exhibits, receives thousands of page-views per month from people in over 200 countries, and presents public programs to hundreds of people regionally and nationally every year. I am currently working to find financing and attach well-known actors for the lead roles in this ensemble piece.Our screenplay, which I co-wrote with Aaron Greer, has garnered several honors, including Best Screenplay at the national University Film and Video Association 2008 competition, 2007 Invitation to Tribeca Film Festival's All Access Program, and 2008 Finalist in the Slamdance competition.

Honey-Colored Boy was a Finalist as a screenplay at DC Shorts 2009 and won Best Wisconsin Short at the Milwaukee International Short Film Festival in 2010 and screened at film festivals across the country.

I still work with Gettin' Grown. The film is distributed by Warner Home Video, and we are currently working towards a broadcast date on cable tv.Gettin' Grown can be purchased at Amazon.com, Target.com, and other Internet and brick-and-mortar stores. The film can be rented from Netflix.
