In particular, I have a deep understanding and affinity with entrepreneurial businesses and start-up ventures, leveraging my extensive network to support business growth and secure investment.As Managing Director, drawing on experience as a Chartered Engineer, I successfully turned around a 3rd generation family business by developing new market niche in tech based engineering and personalised support services. As CEO for technical commercialisation I delivered a significant increase in spin-out companies based on university research, and in my formative years as a senior engineer for ICI / AstraZeneca led on the design / commissioning of major chemical production plants for international markets, building computer simulations to optimise production and quality control.Furthermore, I have been appointed to significant leadership roles to implement best practice in corporate governance (private, public & charitable sectors) and to champion a legislative change agenda to support economic growth on behalf of the business community at the highest level of government in both Northern Ireland and Westminster.
