About Frank Chalker

I have been in the Information Technology industry for over 27 years, including 2 years working overseas in the UK.I have been a Senior member of a Team, Team Leader, or acting Manager in my roles with AusFit, Queensland Health, RSL Care and Centrepoint Alliance. I have built up a Helpdesk and Support teams of various sizes from 3 to 10 staff and led teams of various skill levels. I have also performed project based work, planning and running a number of technical projects. Not long after starting at AusFit I assumed the duties of the ICT Manager, from providing a technical direction to ensuring compliance with relevant credit card handling standards (PCI DSS), handing back the duties to a new ICT Manager after a year. I raised the profile of the ICT department and dramatically increased the efficiency and reliability of the ICT environment, but always returning to the tools, and now focus on Security and Intrastructure.I have worked in mission critical environments that were operational 24x7x365. Due to the high reliance upon the ICT infrastructure and I have had to adhere to a strict ICT Change management process, based upon the ITIL library, attending CAB’s and managing Request For Change’s to manage risks to the ICT infrastructure in previosu roles.In my experience the reliance upon ICT and ICT infrastructure has grown significantly in the last 2 decades and is, or should be, considered a core business component. And anything that potentially impacts this service needs to be managed to assure it is risk averse. Whether the core business hours are standard or 24x7, proper change management processes should be adopted and always observed.Over the course of my career I have always endeavored to deliver high quality customer service in face to face support or over the phones/email support. Always trying to resolve any issues in the most efficient way possible, taking ownership of issues to ensure the client always goes away satisfied.
