I am a corporate attorney with extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including the development and finance of international and U.S. power and infrastructure projects, and the acquisition and sale of power projects and independent power companies. After three decades in private practice, I joined long-time client First Solar, Inc., as Chief Counsel - Business Development Americas, and now serve as Deputy General Counsel - Americas.My project experience includes solar, wind, and other renewable and conventional electric power projects, professional sports arenas, manufacturing facilities, solid waste and other environmental facilities, and other large, capital-intensive infrastructure projects, and have represented not only lenders and developers, but also equipment manufacturers, equity investors, off-takers and governmental agencies.In addition, in private practice, I have counseled companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations on general corporate matters, including loan documentation, equity investments and commercial contracts.I served for several terms serving on the federal Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, advising the U.S. Secretary of Commerce on improving the international competitiveness of the U.S. clean energy industry.I have published articles on topics as diverse as corporate procurement of renewable electric power, utility build-transfer transactions, and legal reform in Latin America, in journals such as Georgetown Journal of International Law and Public Utilities Fortnightly.
