Dr. D'Agnese is responsible for Business Development, Program Management, Product Management, and ongoing and Technology Development for the Earth Knowledge (EK) Platform.The EK Platform is being designed to provide easy access to millions of items of relevant multimedia world information across numerous disciplines and sectors yet the customized focus of “what matters most” for corporate and research enterprises. It customizes dynamic maps, visualizations, mobile tools, geospatial analysis (using ESRI ArcGIS platform), and Google Earth to simplify, organize, and share complex data. Co-designed and supervised development of public website that integrated earth and environmental information categorized under natural, social and economic issues. Built content partnerships with BBC, Guardian, Reuters, Google Earth Outreach, Global Heritage Fund, ARKive, etc. Semantic indexing of multimedia content was used to cross-categorize and map content to Google Earth Virtual Globe. Dr. D’Agnese was a senior-level manager at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), directing technical programs of national and international significance, all of which involved big-data, geographic information integration, and enterprise collaboration. He directed the Death Valley Regional Groundwater System Project, funded by the Department of Energy and numerous other Federal, State, and private entities to study the suitability of the proposed Yucca Mountain high-level radioactive waste repository. He also coordinated national programs for the USGS focused on developing knowledge management tools for analyzing water availability in the desert regions of the United States and other parts of the world.
