Key projects and accomplishments:►Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI): Within an established VMI business model, designed efficient process for vendors to receive support files (i.e. titles, stores, locations, inventory and items) with vendor processing data and deliver recommendations for purchase orders and returns. ---System reduced CAPEX and payroll ~8% while increasing sales ~18%. ►Consolidated Vendor Returns: Developed and implemented a process to reduce employee payroll by simplifying the vendor return process to allow staff to scan and place returns in a box for designated pickup and distribution.---Process reduced each store’s payroll as much as 25% by eliminating vendor shipping and other costs. ►Sales Replenishment System (SRS): Designed and implemented SRS to automate book purchasing, with orders sent directly to vendors. Coordinated efforts of mainframe programmers and client server developers who used PowerBuilder and Oracle systems to replace mainframe on-order system comprised of CICS and batch processing. Platform used was UNIX, Oracle and PowerBuilder front end. Monitored progress with MS Project.---Handled all phases of project including requirements gathering, developing specifications and delegating tasks to programmers, and developing test and implementation plans.►Sales Tracking System: Developed a system to allow buyers, merchandisers and senior management to track sales volumes from seasonal events, enabling them to determine appropriate inventory levels for each store.
