I build and maintain my reputation for reliability while coordinating my tasks at multiple part-time jobs. I consistently maintain and reflect a morale-boosting Can Do attitude. I combine smart-lifting strategy with strength (and with a forklift, too) to organize the warehouse and maintain its order such that it can be downsized, towards improving profitability. I maintain records of the warehoused materials. I use a color-coded system, which I developed, to streamline the information about the origins of warehoused materials.

If a customer isn't home, I notify the customer that a gift awaits attention, either on the premises, or at a neighbor's home, or at the floral shop, as the situation requires. I occasionally bring supplies to the floral shop from wholesalers, etc. I provide labor to help keep the floral shop tidy and organized, especially as seasons require inventory-changes. I boosted manager morale by helping to dramatically increase sales of refrigerated and frozen foods. I further boosted morale by explaining to other Assistant Store Managers and Cashiers, how I prepare and submit my work schedule availability; doing so both conveyed my intention to prioritize the scheduling concerns of my teammates, to the best of MY ability, and offered my teammates an avenue to pursue their scheduling goals to the best of THEIR abilities. I've included in this entry, three consecutive samples of my weekly Shift Availability Sheets, to help illustrate the solution which I developed to the common problem of workers feeling frustrated by schedule conflicts; it works very well, because it helps minimize surprises by neatly giving advance-notice of availability, and of non-availability.

An example of non-destructive innovation involved integration of payroll data into QuickBooks2008. Unique to this challenge was that using QuickBooks Payroll would have been cost-prohibitive for this small business. My workaround only records, it doesn't direct, payroll decisions. My workaround also requires more time to enter data than would be required if using the subscription payroll program. Still, my workaround proved very effective. Most importantly my workaround worked well for years. And, it didn't cause complications to the end-users, neither during development of the workaround, nor during its use. One key to such process development is that I listen to what the professional needs to accomplish, then I use my rudimentary understanding of the professional's field to target the professional's goals. In this case, I used my rudimentary understanding of software, plus my rudimentary understanding of accounting, plus logic, plus moments of inspiration and clarity, plus reversible and flexible trial-and-error, to develop what was needed, in a non-destructive manner.
