My career has been spent in the fields of information technology, law and accounting. I work at the nexus point of law and IT and am particularly interested in how automation technologies and AI can be used to deliver high quality outcomes for organisations and their clients, whilst still meeting legal, regulatory and compliance requirements. From identifying the relevant legal requirements to gap identification and technical remediation advice.Digital assetsMy practice focuses on the protection, discovery, recovery and management of digital assets for individuals and businesses, in particular, the identification and management of cyber and data related risks and the legally integrated technical advice on digital assets and digital assets strategy.Estates & Business SuccessionEstate planning and administration in the digital age is complex and increasingly integrated with information technology. Digital estate planning best practice ranges from individuals with crypto holdings they wish to pass on to their heirs, to business succession to ensure the key digital assets of the business are protected. Effective estate administration now requires a comprehensive understanding of the technical underpinnings of digital assets and how to access and dispose of those assets without harm to the estate.I have presented to state and regional law societies and am the author of “Digital Assets in Estate Planning”, LexisNexis Estate Planning, in addition to regularly contributing to various legal publications.I am member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Digital Assets Steering Committee.To provide balance and perspective to the legal and digital nature of my working day, our family has a small farm in the Southern Highlands of NSW where we have cultivated the French Black Truffle since 2003. I have been a member of the NSW Rural Fire Service since 2006, which is a challenging and very rewarding activity. My spouse is the wonderful and ultra supportive Cindy, a passionate teacher focussed on helping special needs students realise their full potential. I have two adult daughters who provide me with unending support, varying and perceptive viewpoints and continual joy.
