A member of the Executive Team and reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for setting strategic direction and growth initiatives, full P&L responsibility for the LTL Division which is a $50MM business unit, sales, multi-modal growth initiatives as well as Supply Chain Consulting services.

Scotts is the largest marketer and manufacturer of lawn and garden products in the world via the retail channel. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain and managing a staff of 8 direct reports, responsibilities included the development and execution of logistics strategies for 54 manufacturing and distribution locations and $240 million in total transportation spend supporting $2.8 billion in sales. Overall responsibility for 18 company owned and 4 third party warehouse facilities with an annual budget of $50 million.

Ashland is an $8.7 billion diversified chemical company with sales and operations in 110 countries around the world. Reporting to the Director of Global Supply Chain and managing a staff of six direct reports, responsibilities included establishing and executing global logistics strategy for all modes of transportation, transportation budgeting for five lines of business, managing Ashland’s $250MM transportation spend, supplier management and negotiations as well as optimizing Ashland’s 450-unit private fleet. *Responsible for Global Logistics strategy and execution in support of $8.7B in annual revenues and a logistics budget of $250MM.

A private equity held company (Oaktree Capital) UnionTools was the United States second largest manufacturer and distributor of non-powered lawn and garden tools. A $100MM marketer with manufacturing operations, joint ventures, suppliers and customers both domestically and internationally. Reporting to the Senior VP of Operations, responsibilities included the management of UnionTools $7MM transportation spend, indirect procurement, vendor selection and management, rate negotiation, and the development of KPI’s. In 2006 UnionTools was acquired by Ames True Temper, the market leader, and fully integrated into their business model.

Hired in 2001 as Regional Manager of Operations then in 2002 promoted to Director of Operations. Exel/DHL is one of the world’s largest providers of third party warehousing and logistics solutions, with over $10B in annual revenues and 130,000 employees in more than 120 countries. Reporting to the Senior VP of Operations, responsible for the start-up and management of distribution facilities servicing Maytag, Sears, Miele, Williams-Sonoma, Babies R’ Us, Crate & Barrel as well as other customers. Responsibilities included site selection, vendor negotiation, regional P&L management, customer service and client integration. Managed Exel Direct Network operations in the Midwest, Eastern US and Puerto Rico with a footprint of 2.4MM sq feet, and 9 direct reports.*Full P&L responsibility for 17 locations providing warehousing and final mile delivery services.

Hired as a Dock Supervisor in 1997, then in 1998 promoted into the Executive Development program. Overnite Transportation, with revenues of $1B, was the United States largest non-union LTL carrier. Primary responsibilities included goal-setting, training, forecasting and workload prioritization. Familiar with freight classification, freight rating and pricing, as well as DOT and hazardous materials regulations.
