Collect and analyze historical data to assess utilization history and forecast future vehicle and facilities requirements.LOGISTICS PLANNING: Develop plans, policies, and procedures to cover multiple supply objectives, including but not limited to fleet utilization and proper use of the fleet charge card, surge operations, and facility management. Develop and supervise programs for maintaining property accountability using a SAP (Systems Applications Processes) software system. Conduct communications with regional and remote site managers to identify and solve complex problems in supply chain and equipment life cycle management. PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND EFFICIENCY: Interface with program managers to assess vehicle usage and develop potential courses of action to reduce storage and fuel costs. Coordinate the exchange of old equipment items for new, more efficient items.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS: *Saved the USG more than $2M by identifying excess inventory and coordinating redistribution within other regional departments of the USFWS to satisfy shortages elsewhere. Transferring equipment to OGAs saved an additional $940K.*Sold through GSA excess and obsolete equipment recouping $1.3M in funds that were used for other initiatives within the Region.*Reduced the total inventory of medium- and light-duty vehicles by 14.6% in an 18-month period. Reached quota ahead of deadline, reducing the fleet by a total of 253 vehicles without impact to operations. This was the largest single vehicle reduction in the USFWS and saved the region about $6M in vehicle-associated expenses.
