My new role includes the management of maintaining the correct levels of stock by ordering products. This includes working with companies like Harvey’s and 360 Brewery to discuss different products which would be suitable for the Bluebell Railway. This has given me an insight into being able to communicate and how to build a working relationship with other companies. I undertake creating new product lines for the bar when events are happening, this is to create new and exciting products for our customers to enjoy. This has given me confidence in being creative and thinking out side of the box. I’ve worked along side the marketing department in designing the new products, so they can be showcased on social media platforms. Another duty is coming up with ideas into how to display products and renovate the bar. I’ve done this by establishing a Gin display, renovating parts of the bar for a more practical working environment while creating a more aesthetic pleasing appearance.

My day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring the restaurant and dining area is equipped and prepared for the service ahead, interact with a wide variety of customers, multitasking various front-of-house duties, and supporting less experienced staff in a supervisor role when required.Another duty that I undertake is training the new staff on how the restaurant operates. I encourage and support the new members of staff in various roles. The training and supervision of staff has drastically improved my leadership, interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn and develop.

Previously, I also worked this role for these time periods: June 2017 – November 2017 and June 2018 – September 2018.Organisation and time management was pinnacle in this role as I had to ensure all stock on the aisle was replenished as well as stock rotating. Another important factor was to guarantee the aisle was ready for the online customer assistants. For the majority of the shift, you worked alone, which built my initiative and independence. Therefore, allowing me to become more self-aware and adaptable to different situations and tasks.
