Frankie Shea is an arts producer and project manager born and based in London. Shea is known as both a committed mentor and discerning producer of public art and has curated a rich programme of educational workshops, film screenings, talks, and commissions such as the ambitious, large scale Living Walls-London public art project for Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.Shea was embedded in skate culture as a local to London’s Southbank, and regular skater at the capital’s iconic skate spots. During the late 80s, he also spent time skating daily in Southern California, whilst documenting the scene for the UK’s major publications of the day.His passion for and interest in alternative subcultures and aesthetics was integral to the development of Shoreditch’s art scene, as well as the exhibitions he organised at various London galleries and UK institutions.In 2010, he founded Moniker Projects, which provides platforms for urban and outsider art forms. Moniker Projects funded, and produced the first annual Moniker Art Fair, the first-of-its-kind fair that uniquely exhibiting works with roots in urban culture, street-art, and graffiti. The inaugural event drew an attendance of 5,000, which grew to more than 14,000 in the forthcoming years.
