Responsible for taking the lead on assigned repair, maintenance and technology evaluation projects. Maintain a working knowledge of current facilities while learning new advances in electrical, ventilation, penning and feeding technologies; give technical advice to all departments as it relates to technology application and implementation.Communicating with company maintenance crews to acquire necessary parts and equipment, and developing business relationships with vendors. Assist in developing annual project budgets for company sites including annual facility inspections Assist in implementing a system of verification and tracking metrics (work-orders, purchase orders, bid sheets) Manage expenses and costs in alignment with company expectations Complete quarterly financial reviews with supervisor and accounting Maintain accurate records and provide reporting as required Set annual goals and objectives with management of respective sites Complete quarterly reviews with management of respective sites Provide current updates and assessments of project timelines to operations Advise production managers on current advances in swine equipment and facility design Complete and facilitate plans for maintenance and construction projects with site managers and the field advisor team Provide oversight to both internal and external service providers to complete project plans Facilitate accurate execution of project objectives while remaining in tune with customer requirements Develop and implement standard operating procedures for project management strategies for company managed facilities Plan and manage contractor resources for multiple projects Complete hands-on project related activities where applicable in an effort to meet position’s goals and objectives Read, understand and interpret blueprints Complete audits, reporting, and permit filing for construction projects in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies

Plan component requirements using MRP. Communicate potential shortages to appropriate personnel (planning, manufacturing, and commercial). Work with suppliers to proactively mitigate shortages, or recover when necessary. Place purchase orders with suppliers and monitor adherence to delivery schedules. Reschedule orders based on forecast and requirement changes. Manage Inventory levels. Adjust orders as necessary to reduce excess inventory; Negotiate with suppliers to reduce lead times and lot sizes. Implement pull systems or other inventory management systems with suppliers to reduce inventory levels. Manage maintenance of business changes on purchased components to ensure smooth transitions and limited scrap costs. Utilize supplier quality process as required. Participate in Material Review Board and lead team consensus on disposition of rejected purchased material. Act as primary contact with supplier for some concerns. Follow Return to Vendor process to return defective product to suppliers. Address match exceptions with suppliers and Accounts Payable to be sure all invoices are paid on time. Address receipt errors, invoice errors, and system errors. Monitor and address PO pricing to reduce negative purchased price variance. Identify and implement cost improvements in the overall supply chain. Review Supplier Requested Changes, and follow process for implementing approved changes. Utilize supplier quality process as required. Participate in Value Streams, and provide purchasing perspective on operations improvements. Maintain supplier information, part MRP data, quote data and other information in BPCS (MRP System). Comply with all contract terms associated with assigned suppliers. Provide forecasts to suppliers as agreed.
