My roles included operating tills, counting and retrieving fill-up reports, assisting, serving and advising customers, filing cash-ups, cleaning, organising and sorting a large stock room. Throughout my time at the retailer, I also took a variety of skill-based tests relating to the successful running of the shop, these allowed me to build upon my current skill-set to fully comprehend the requirements of the post.In addition to this, I was contract for several days, per week with close contact with managers and supervisors, this helped me gain an insight into the more technical aspects of the environment, as well as how the business operates from more than one perspective.On occasions, I worked closely with the Area Manager who took an interest in my university life. I undertook a variety of tasks which were suited to my abilities due to my experience.I was placed on a zero-contract whilst I attended my first year at university, I then rejoined the retailer during the summer of 2014 leading up to the start of my second year.During this time, the shop relocated to a larger, more suitable lot in the same shopping district. A lot of my tasks during this time were based around moving equipment, attending early deliveries, sorting stock and general stock-taking.I stopped working part-time due to starting my 2nd year at university, however I was, again, placed on a zero-hour contract.
