Design and implementation of software systems for the Defense Systems Division.

Currently Cyber Security Lead on a military maritime reconnaissance/patrol aircraft project. I am leading a small team to implement identity management, host-based protection, auditing and other related services for a program of record. The features that we are implementing include DOD/DISA compliant cyber security services, including automated system installation, deployment, and configuration and automation features to support aircraft crew in a combat environment.Previously was Software Lead on a shallow water combat ship project. Which involved the contribution to many systems and software engineering products including requirements, architecture, design, modeling, development plans, etc. I was directly in charge of all modeling, software design, and implementation efforts on the project. We followed a data-centric architecture, use model-driven development and all products were strenuously and rigorously peer-reviewed within a very large stakeholder community.Apart from having more than 20 years of C++ experience and being fluent in Java SE, I am considered to be an "expert" on data-centric middleware and UML modeling within our organization. I have started to develop significant expertise in the areas of cyber security, identity management, Active Directory integration, and centralized host management systems which are both DOD (FIPS-140.2) compliant and enterprise strength.I have also developed a great deal of familiarity with Unmanned Systems and UAV ground control systems (GCS). My original participation at Progeny included the port of a widely used UAV ground control system from Solaris to Linux. Part of which we developed a tactical map and the underlying abstraction Interface. Afterwards I participated in implementing an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) middleware solution.

Design and implementation of systems level software using Java and C/C++ primarily under UNIX/LINUX environment. Last project was a legacy language to Java translator which includes SQL database connectivity.This was a follow-on contract from Zybex, Inc.

Rejoined to design and implement Windows and UNIX TCP/IP client/server software. Ported BASIC language run-time interpreter and o/s emulator package from SCO Openserver 5 to Linux using "C/C++". Implemented CyberMed/AlphaBASIC legacy-interfaces using "C/C++", Java, JSP, SQL, ODBC, RPC, HTML, Visual C++, Visual Basic and scripting. Databases included MS-SQL, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle. Utilized Apache and Tomcat on backend.Extensive Windows and UNIX/Linux system/network administration, monitoring and troubleshooting using "C/C++", HTML, Korn/Bourne/Bash Shell, various scripting technologies and various software/hardware tools. This included LAN, WAN, VPN and wireless networks.Designed and implemented company and client networking standards using TCP/IP, Linux/UNIX, Windows and various modems, hubs, routers, and bridges, etc. Implemented OpenVistA EMR extension to CyberMed using MUMPS, "C/C++", SQL, Java/JSP, Visual C++ and various scripting technologies.

Developed data conversion software using Progress 4GL, C/C++ and Oracle 7 running on Windows 95 and NT. Required extensive schema analysis on various 3rd party internet service provider billing packages.

Managed all phases of software development for their largest client, Shell Oil. Including technical specifications, designs, coding, beta testing, installation and support. Originally hired as C++ programmer to develop POS device interface programs using imbedded SQL, etc. This position required constant communication with Shell Oil executives, regional managers, training centers and station managers. TSW! produced back-end management systems for convenience stores and gas stations for several large clients including Mobil, Texaco and Shell Oil. .

Design, maintenance and support of systems software, mainly compiler/interpreter design using the "C" language and Assembler. Also system/network administration and troubleshooting. Extensive TCP/IP and Microsoft LAN's. Developed applications using DOS/Windows, SCO UNIX/XENIX, IBM AIX/6000 and Pyramid Technology's DC/OSx. Developed O/S extensions for AMOS on Alpha Micro computers using 68000 Assembly language. Platforms included PC Compatibles, 68000 mini-computers, IBM RS/6000 RISC and Pyramid Technology Nile MMP systems.

Design, maintenance and support of computer hardware, operating systems extensions and device drivers. Primarily in 68000 assembly language, C and BASIC. Also involved troubleshooting hardware designs using logic analyzers and serial communications. I was responsible for two hardware products: a 68000 to 68020/68881 paddle board and a RS-232D serial port expansion interface. Both of these hardware products were designed for Alpha Micro 68000 mini-computer systems. Extensive hardware and software reverse engineering was required.

Development of Accounting Systems in AlphaBASIC. Cash register interfacing with inventory system, required assembly language and RS-232. Reverse engineering of PDP-11 and MC68000 systems at board and operating system level.
