Mr. Wise serves as Chief Operating Officer, Vice President and General Counsel to the Company and oversees every aspect of the business of the Company and its affiliates. The Company and its affiliates engage in real estate management, development and construction and specialize further in opportunistic investment of all types. Mr. Wise's extensive experience ranges from real estate design, development and construction to financing, accounting, leasing, sales, marketing, property management and transactional real estate and business acquisitions and sales. During Mr. Wise's tenure with the Company he has served on the Board of Directors of Tradewinds International Airlines (formerly owned by affiliates), a U.S. 121 certificated airline, and has overseen investments that the Company made in aviation and aviation facilities. Mr. Wise has also also been active in the substantial philanthropic acitivities of the Company's principal, including major gifts to major medical institutions and universities. Mr. Wise is currently active in a major biotech investment for the Company involved in genetic engineering, a business in whcih the Company has Board observation rights. Mr. Wise has been with the Company since 1988. He is a 1977 graduate of Dickinson College and a 1980 graduate of the Catholic University of America School of Law. He is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Prior to joining the Swirnow organization in 1988, Mr. Wise was employed as an attorney in the law firm of Klein and Webb in Baltimore, specializing in development, construction, contracts, finance, insurance, banking and litigation. From 1980 to 1984 Mr. Wise was employed as an attorney in the law firm of Semmes, Bowen and Semmes, specializing in construction litigation and insurance defense litigation.
