Engaged with NOAA line offices, partners, and NWS region and field offices to discuss NWS policies and programs, resolve issues, and, provide information that promotes the agency’s goal to build a Weather-Ready Nation. Delivered high quality, technically accurate information to senior leaders on a wide range of complex issues related to agency policies and programs. advised the NWS director on employee relations, external communication, and emergency management engagement. ■ Wrote policies, guidance, reports, position papers, high level briefings and strategic plans related to complex, sensitive issues that impacted the agency during its unprecedented reorganization

■ Wrote time-critical reports and briefings on impending significant weather events impacting the United States; analyzed forecasts and impacts and coordinated with scientists at regional operations centers to ensure the reports were technically accurate and conveyed critical information to top White House, FEMA and Department of Commerce officials■ Organized the multi-agency Public-Private Partnership 2000 initiative which brought a diverse group of government, private sector and academic experts together to identify challenges, examine solutions, and deliver recommendations to address natural hazards; the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy implemented policy changes based on the recommendations■ Engaged with congressional staff, agency officials, and stakeholders to discuss NWS initiatives and identify opportunities to collaborate on specific projects, such as building safe communities■ Wrote guidance on effective strategies to communicate scientific and technical information; NWS incorporated the guidance to revise weather safety guidelines for the public ■ Managed the StormReady Program and the Lightning Safety Program; executed budgets, developed program efficiencies, and met GPRA goals every year. StormReady communities grew by 2000+, and many organizations (including Boy Scout of America, PGA Golf, Six Flags, and Major League Baseball) adopted NWS life-saving lightning safety protocols ■ Briefed new NOAA/NWS policy and programs to NWS staff, partners, and constituents to communicate how changes may impact each audience
