I currently manage 25 full-time and part-time employees and provide financial and personnel support for the Constitutional Officers. I am the personnel officer and have successfully completed a transition in our health care plan that increased benefits, reduced county and employee costs, and increased participation levels. Financially, I remain involved in the process to include monthly reconciliation, Commission reports, creating policy and procedures, and budgeting. The Commission has adopted a classification and compensation plan to define position requirements and provides regionally competitive salaries. Serving as the first County Manager, I continue to engage the public on local government and our daily operational capabilities. Being in a TIA region I also negotiate the priority road projects, make recommendations to the Commission, and provide County oversite on construction projects. I have also become increasingly involved with the Development Authority by representing them in regional meetings and participating in negotiations with potential industrial clients to ensure both the developer and community needs are met with the goal of local job creation. I provided the oversite for the final year of $2.5 million renovation of the historic courthouse and have led the efforts to reoccupy the facility as a Welcome Center and government offices. Show less
