Franklin Wang is a man who loves his family, his church, and his friends. He likes reading, connecting, serving, and enjoying a variety of foods. Vocationally, he sees himself foremost as a pastor, then as a strategist, and then as a teacher and a theological educator. As a pastor, Franklin strives to "laugh with those who are laughing and weep with those who are weeping." He cherishes the idea of being a helper, that is, to help other people grow to their full potential. As someone who has experience both in China and in the West, Franklin frequently and gladly plays the role of a bridge person or a translator, literally and figuratively. Franklin especially enjoys working on entrepreneur-type projects. It excites him to figure out how to do a valuable thing in a new way or an original context. Franklin loves reading, thinking, and writing, although his primary concern towards people constrains him from being a scholar fully ensconced in the ivory tower. History, theology, sociology, and psychology are his primary interests. His mind flies like an eagle when he reads books full of information, insights, and inspiring theories. Franklin relaxes through physical training, music, photography, and movies.
