During this time, he has developed broad experience and expertise in commercial finance, real estate, and valuation. He is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of bankruptcy, financial restructuring, insolvency & workouts and is designated as a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) by the AIRA.Prior becoming a financial consultant in 2005, he worked as a commercial lender, commercial real estate appraiser, senior credit and workout officer. His experiences include direct lending of approximately $500 million to businesses and commercial real estate ventures and credit review and approval of approximately $1.5 billion. He also led numerous workouts and financial restructurings with companies with market capitalization ranging from $1 million to in excess of $1 billion.As a consultant he has acted as an advisor, litigation consultant, and/or expert witness in matters relating to business & project evaluation; damage claims; debt & equity structuring; feasibility; financing; lending and leasing due diligence and transaction parameters; lost profits; real estate; and valuation.He has worked with a multitude of business types and over a dozen different real estate property types. He also holds a deep understanding of many related issues such as financial analysis and modeling, Chapter 11 plan feasibility requirements, the 1111(b) election, (Till) cramdown interest rates, and valuation.As a workout officer, litigation consultant and expert witness, he has participated in over two hundred state court and bankruptcy court hearings, and provided testimony through within state and federal courtrooms across the country.He has authored several published articles and is routinely asked to speak on financial, real estate and insolvency issues at regional and national seminars.
