As a full professor with 24 years of experience in Hydrology and Remote Sensing at the Department of Civil Engineering in the National University ‘Ezequiel Zamora’ (UNELLEZ, Venezuela), I have dedicated my career to advancing the field of large-scale drought assessment using Earth Observations and state-of-the-art drought products. My passion for the environment led me to pursue a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Catholic University Andrés Bello (Venezuela, 2005) and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Carabobo (Venezuela, 2012). I also hold two postdocs in remote sensing from the Satellite Image Analysis and Processing Laboratory – Institute of Atmospheric Sciences – Federal University of Alagoas (Brazil) and the Federal University of Campina Grande (Brazil). In addition to my academic experience, I have served as a national consultant for the FAO in Venezuela and an international consultant for the UNCCD. I am a member of the Reviewer Board of Remote Sensing.
