Frank Maher is a practising solicitor with over 40 years' experience providing legal advice to law firms and their insurers, often in 'bet the business' situations on regulatory and professional indemnity insurance issues. Examples include advice on regulatory aspects of law firm structures (including transatlantic practices), rogue partners, insurance coverage, claims over the policy limit, advice on compliance issues such as conflicts of interests and funding of securities class actions, disciplinary investigations and representation in the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. Expert witness work includes limitation of liability, conflicts, and professional indemnity insurance for Law Society schemes. Clients include US and UK global law firms, private equity funds investing in ABS law firms, European firms and professional firms of all sizes and insurers in the US and Australia. He has qualifications in anti-money laundering and data protection. He is a member (and former director) of the (US) Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, and a member of the Association of Partnership Practitioners (and former committee member), and the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers.
