Mr. Novel has over 50 years of banking and regulatory experience. Prior to joining Metropolitan Capital he was Chief Operating Officer of Bridgeview Bank. Mr. Novel spent six years as a bank examiner with the FDIC, and has been the president of four Chicago area banks: the State Bank of Lombard, Security Bank of DuPage, Pan American Bank, and now Metropolitan Capital Bank & Trust. He also held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at Edgemark Financial Corporation, a five bank holding company. Mr. Novel holds a B.S. in Economics from Purdue University and a degree from the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. He holds Series 7 – General Securities Representative, Series 24 – General Securities Principal and Series 63 – Uniform State Broker-Dealer Agent licenses with Metropolitan Capital Investment Banc. In addition, he is a Certified Treasury Professional. He is a past member of the Union League Club of Chicago, having served on its Membership, Finance and Art Committees, and is currently a member of the University Club of Chicago.
