Communications Coordinator
CurrentNonprofit community help agency, and ECU Health subsidiary, coordinating patient-focused, provider-driven health care for more than 102,000 Medicaid enrollees across 34 eastern North Carolina counties. Access East also provides a variety of health-care services to the region's uninsured and underinsured; offers consumers free, unbiased help in navigating the Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace; and provides education and health-care outreach to seasonal farmworkers.I am responsible for the direction and implementation of internal and external community communications, to include coordination of PR efforts and media outreach; the creation and design of, and/or advisement upon, all company marketing materials; crafting and designing the employee newsletter; maintaining all social media; updating content for the company website through WordPress CMS; handling company photography; and prior to integration with the ECU Health system, researching and writing company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all administrative and clinical matters in close collaboration with content experts.ACCOMPLISHMENTS: * Orchestrated re-branding of the company as Access East after years of it operating under the name of a subsidiary service line, 2014-15.* Oversaw development of the company website, to then include four separate landing pages and numerous drill-down pages containing highly detailed content that I created. (Responsible now for all online text and photographic material / updates for all but our Healthy Opportunities Pilot service line.)* Led advocacy campaign on comprehensive Medicaid changes with state-government officials.
