As a Group Leader at Gentex, I lead a team to produce Gentex's "Rear Camera Display" Mirrors on a Bay of Final Assembly Lines. In my role, it is my job to work with all of our support groups which range from quality, industrial, and process engineers in order to meet our customer's varying demand. I also am managing Production Support Engineers, who extend leadership to the team members building our product. My position requires me to range anywhere from holding monthly finance/business reviews with top tiered management to training new team members on the production floor.

As a Production Support Engineer, I had the opportunity to work first hand with product that was being launched with OEMs such as Audi, Chrysler, GM, and Toyota. I was the first line of defense for the manufacturing floor when it came to metrics such as Quality, Availability, and Performance. All three of these metrics fall into what we define as Overall Equipment Effectiveness, which as PSE, I had a sense of ownership of. My daily tasks included working with technicians to make sure equipment was up in running efficiently, eliminating waste through kaizen statements of work, and managing team members to hit goals to meet our customer demand (TAKT Time).
