My interest in oncology began in my undergraduate course in biology at the University of Manchester where studied the single cell killing dynamics of Natural Killer cells against B-lymphoblastoid cancer cells for my final year project. This experience inspired me to pursue a master’s degree in Cancer Research and Precision Oncology at the University of Glasgow and have become even more passionate about researching the causes of cancer and motivated to make a positive difference in this field.During my studies I have gained experience in working in state-of-the-art laboratories, such as carrying out a 12-week placement at the Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre where I studied target protein expression in blast phase chronic myeloid leukaemia. I have experience in various wet lab techniques such as western blotting, flow cytometry and cell culturing as well as some experience in bioinformatics through the analysis of proteomic data. I thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy meeting and collaborating with people from all different backgrounds.I aim to contribute to research that enhances our understanding of different cancers and improves therapeutic options. I am always eager to discuss new opportunities and collaborations. Feel free to reach out for a chat!
