Sugarwood Services is a landscape contracting company that is based out of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The company completes a large range of tasks from installing patios to cutting grass.My role while I worked here was Grass Crew Foreman, which required me to manage a crew of three to four people in order to effectively complete a weekly route maintaining properties. Through many years of experience in the trade and in the area in general I was able to gain experience which allowed for me to increase company efficiency in the grass department by close to twenty percent. This was done by taking quicker routes to jobs, but also through learning how to complete each job efficiently and completely. The most important thing learned from this job was effective time management in the workplace. Time management can become much more difficult when working on a job, as it is not only time you have to manage in order to get the job done on time.

Frac Water Resources is a company that was started by my friend’s mother to provide the fresh water gas companies need in order to drill. This job required quick thinking, communication skills, and most importantly patience.I have worked here over the past couple of summers in the time I had free from my other job working as a landscaper. The title I fulfilled for this company was site manager, a job that required me to maintain the water level in 7 massive holding tanks as well as direct trucking traffic to the correct tank. Each day on the job varied drastically in terms of truck traffic, but you are required to sign a release form from each trucker who filled up.

Scott Landscaping is a small business that I ran for a few summers that served the greater Pittsburgh area. This company was run during my free time from my other job as a landscaper. My position in the company was the Owner/Operator, requiring me to manage personal funds in order to buy supplies and pay workers, reinvesting profits into the company. Throughout the summers we had many returning customers due to the lasting relationships we had formed with them by thoroughly completing the job. Along with returning customers we also had new ones that we attracted through the use of advertising.With experience as a landscaper I was able to effectively estimate the prices of peoples dream yards, making prices profitable, but better than the opposition. This pricing method allowed for the company generate thousands of dollars over the course of its life.
