Working on arms trade/control and disarmament issues since 1993, as well as the wider area of military affairs. Working internationally with other civil society organisations, academics and media; sharing expertise to policymakers and politicians.Main current areas of work include the global arms trade; autonomous weapons a.k.a. killer robots; financial sector links with the arms industry.Over the years research areas have included Dutch and international arms trade; use of explosive weapons in populated areas; industry policy (offsets; Joint Strike Fighter); company assessments (military activities, incl. involvement in production of nuclear weapons, landmines and cluster bombs); nuclear proliferation (AQ Khan & the Netherlands); Iraq's chemical weapons programme; the militarisation of Europe (ESDP, industry's lobby in Brussels; the European Defence Agency; and EU space policy); post-9/11 extraordinary rendition and much more.
